More Ice Cream!

Hi, everyone! I’m here with another card for another challenge! This time I used inspiration from Virginia’s View Challenge: All About Summer! Her inspiration board had so much color so I went with a rainbow themed card. I had a lot of fun making this card. It took a little longer than my normal cards but I love the end result! Anyways, here is a look at the card!

I started by cutting down some Strathmore cold pressed watercolor paper slightly smaller than an A2 size card. Then I used Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink to stamp the ice cream image, since its waterproof. The cone comes from Stampin’ Up!’s “Honeycomb Happiness.”  I stamped the first row (painted pink) then cut out 2 masks from post it notes. I’m just beginning card making so my supplies are pretty basic. But the post it’s worked for me! So I masked 2 cones at a time and stamped a cone behind and above the row below it. After all the stamping, I die cut a circle from the top center portion of the panel. Then proceeded to watercolor the images using ink from Crayola markers. They are a cheap marker set but for watercoloring they work wonderfully. The colors stay nice and bright!! I then stamped the sentiment from the same set inside the circle. I wanted to add some sort of border to the card after I adhered it flat to the base, so I grabbed some Micron one in matching colors to add some faux stitching. And that was it! Here is a link to the challenge!
