Crazy Bird Panels

Hi, friends! In here with a quick post featuring more Crazy Birds from Tim Hltz for this week’s MFT Sketch Challenge! Hope you enjoy!

image.jpeg

i started by stamping the birds randomly into some white cardstock. Then I used my Zigs to watercolor them in, trying to use a bit of a softer palette. Then I let it dry and cut it into panels to mimic the sketch. I popped them up with foam tape onto a price of green gingham paper then tied a bow with some black twine. Finally, I white heat embossed the sentiment onto some black cardstock and popped those up as well. Thanks for stopping by!

CYCI #129

Hello friends! The wonderful ladies over at Can You Case It? have a brand new color challenge for us to play along with this week! Pink, dark blue, and neutrals are the colors. I love color challenges because I would have never thought to use this combo on a card!

I wanted to try a square card today and this layout was perfect for it! I started by adding a strip of tan washi down the left side of the card. Then I did lots of stamping and  diecutting with W+9’s Doodle Buds. I watercolored the images using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I didn’t have a tan color so I mixed an orangish yellow with gray and somehow got a perfect match to the washi! I also layed down a wash of the tan color on some cardstock so I could diecut the sentiment that would coordinate perfectly. After everything was cut and colored I glued down the elements using liquid adhesive and one piece of foam tape on the top flower. I added some shimmer to the “Hello” and portions of the florals.

Here is a look at the challenge! Hope you have a chance to play along this week at Can You Case It?

Crazy Birds!!!

Hey, friends! I’m back with another card tonight! This time I used Crazy Birds from Tim Holtz!!! I have been wanting to get my hands in these every since I saw them! Thankfully, my friend Tim got them for me for my birthday! So thankful for how wonderfully kind the card making world is!!!

The current challenge over at Taylored Expressions’ Share Joy Challenge is a sketch and theme challenge. I chose to use the theme- CAS. Hope you like it!

image.jpeg

I started by stamping my favorite crazy bird onto a white A2 sized card base. I colored him in using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Then I stamped the sentiment in black. This was a super quick card but I totally love the end result.

If you haven’t had a chance to head over to TE here is a link to the challenge:

W+9 Doodle Buds

Hi, everyone! I’m finally back to making cards after a long week away from home. I hadn’t gotten a chance to play with all my new crafty things I received for my birthday so I was super excited to get to the craft room today. For this card, I used inspiration from Color Throwdown and CASology. I love both these challenges, if you haven’t checked them out lately I highly suggest it! They have some amazing designers!!! Anyways, here’s a look at my card!

image.jpeg

I started by stamping the four floral images from W+9 onto the bottom of a white A2 sized top folding card base. Then I literally just slapped on the colors from the challenge. I love abstract art and when artists color outside of the lines, so I really wanted to exemplify that on this card. To finish it off I stamped the sentiment in black above the watercolored flowers.

Here are links to both challenges:

Copic + Clean Color Markers

Hey, everybody! I’m here with a card using both Copics and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! I haven’t seen anyone use them together anymore but I’m sure people have! So I wanted to try it out! I chose a very simple image to color since I don’t have many colors of the markers. But…there are more Zigs on the way!!!

image.jpeg

I stamped the wheel and sentiment onto a A2 white card base. Then I stamped a few hamsters on a scrap piece of plain white cardstock and began coloring them in!

image.jpeg

I used 3 shades of Copic and 1 Zig. I watercolored with plain water and Wink of Stella! I looooove Wink of Stella, I don’t know why it took me so long to buy it! After the coloring, I die cut the cutest hamster and popped it up on the card using foam tape. I used a sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch #180 for the layout.

Tic-Tac-Toe Red, White, & Blue

Hey crafty people! I’m here with another card, this time for Stamping Smiles Designs’ TTT Challenge and for TGIF Color Challenge. Since the 4th of July is over, I went with a less tradition red, white, and blue color scheme. I also don’t own any felt except for the ribbon I used on this card.

image.jpeg

I used a white A2 sized card base and layed down some light blue washi to the left edge. I love using striped washi tape to add some interest to cards, it’s so quick and easy but has an awesome effect! Then I stamped the image and watercolored it in using just 3 colors. I match the blue of the washi for the plane and used small pops of red to make it pop. I wanted the bunny to stay where but shaded him with light gray. Finally, I added the heart felt ribbon to the top part of the card. I also added some clear Wink of Strlla over the plane and goggles.

Christmas in July

Hi everyone! It’s the 2nd Day of The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge and I was running out of time so I made this quick card. Well, it was supposed to be quick but that never happens… I used a few different challenge blogs for inspiration and will link to them all at the end of this post.

image.jpeg

I started yes by cutting and adhering 2 pieces of ribbon to the card base. Then I used a rub on to add a Christmas sentiment to a rounded rectangle. I drew a line to act as a strong for the ornament that I die cut with a freebie from Taylored Expressions when I ordered from them with my gift card I won from their challenge a few weeks ago. I colored the ornament with markers and Wink of Stella! I popped up all the element with a single layer of foam tape besides the red star, I doubled up the foam for it to make it really pop off the card! This is a super CAS card, I was inspired by the amazing Ardyth Percy-Robb for this one. She’s the queen of clean and simple Christmas cards. Go check her out!!
