CYCI #135

Hello, everyone! A new challenge is up over at CanYouCaseIt? and this time its BACK TO SCHOOL!  I just finished the first week of my senior year of college the past week! I am actually majoring in Education so I was super excited for this challenge. But it was definitely a challenge– I don’t have many B2S supplies so I made do with a couple of Stamping’ Up! stamps from 1993… And of course I used my elementary school colors- sending this one to my mom who teaches kindergarten there.

I started by stamping a background with a crayon stamp randomly across an A2 sized card base. Then is cut a panel from some more white card stock and blend some Barn Door Distress Ink from top to bottom before stamping a splatter from MFT. Then is stamped a scissors also from SU! in the same distress ink and fussy cut the image. I popped it up on the splatter then used my Dymo label maker to create a sentiment. I love using labels on cards but they always glare in photos.. :/ Hope you enjoyed my card and play along with CYCI this week!

CYCI #134

HI, crafty people! It’s Sunday and you know what that means- a new CanYouCaseIt? challenge! This time it is all about pets! If you guys have seem my previous cards you know I am a cat lover! Sadly, my cat, Shephard, passed away last year. So I don’t have any pets right now, but I still had to make a cat project! And of course I used MFT’s Cool Cat stamp set.

I decided to make a trio of tags for this week to change things up. I die cut them using an older Sizzix die. I also stamped and die cut three of the cats from Birdie Brown’s set as well as the flowers and food dish. I water colored them with my Zig markers. I chose some muted colors for the cats since the tags were pretty colorful. Then is stamped the sentiments with Versamark and heat embossed them in white. I popped up the cats and sentiment strips with some foam dots and added some coordinating baker’s twine to finish them off.  I haven’t really made tag before so this was a super fun project and I can’t wait to put them on some gifts! Thanks for checking out my blog and don’t forget to play along with us at CYCI!!!!!

Inklipse Blog Hop!

Hello, everyone! Today I’m here with a super special post! It’s for the Inklipse Blog Hop! If you haven’t checked out his YouTube channel you’re missing out! He has lots of fun stuff and more coming! A huge thanks to Simon for putting this blog hop together! I am so excited to be part of this hop which has such talented bloggers!

So for this hop I wanted to make something that included some of my favorite stuff: Christmas, Lawn Fawn, and watercoloring with my Clean Color Real Brush Markers!

I was inspired by the amazing Nichol Magourirk. She made a super sophisticated card set using vellum, heat embossing, and the Toboggan Together set from Lawn Fawn. I went for a more colorful whimsical feel with my card. I started by ink blending a background onto an A2 sized card base. Then I stamped a few of the trees from the set onto the base. Next, I took some vellum and heat embossed the sentiment. I glued down the vellum panel and added a snowy hill and some die cut trees. Then I stamped the penguin, sled, and present and watercolored them in with my Zigs. I added them to the card and it was finished! Except for some Wink of Stella of course! What do you guys think?!

Thanks for checking out my blog and have fun with all the others! BIG THANKS to Simon for organizing this hop! Here is his link as well as all the other blogs!

Hi, everyone! I’m back with another card for the Color Throwdown challenge and (CAS)E This Sketch! These are two of my favorites so it was awesome to combine them this week.

I started by stamping three of MFT’s ink splatters in Versafine into an A2 sized card base. Then I stamped and die cut three flamingos from Lawn Fawn. I watercolored them in with my Zigs. I popped them up over the splatters to form a colorful row of flamingos. For the sentiment, I stamped a smaller, more linear, image from the MFT set and white heat embossed the sentiment over it. This was a fairly simple card to make but I love the bold look of it! Thanks for checking it out and head over to the challenges to play along!

Concord & 9th DT Call

Hey, everyone! Concord & 9th is having a design team call for their new monthly challenge! Its starting up next month and they’re still looking to fill a few spots on their team. I would love to be a part of the team but I don’t own and stamps or dies from C9… 😦 I know, probably the saddest thing you’ll ever hear. But, I would still love to be apart of the team so if C9 is reading this… I’m ready! I am loving the new release I just haven’t had time to put in an order! (or the money… #BrokeCollegeKid) But I think I would make a great addition and am super excited to play along if I don’t get chosen!!! Below are some photos of some of my favorite cards that I have created! Hope you take a look and consider me for part of the team!!!

As for everyone else- make sure to check out their new release and the upcoming challenge blog! And submit a card if you want to join the team! Good luck to the other hopefuls!

Hi everyone! If you gnome my stamp selection, you gnome I love with MFT’s “You Gnome Me” set by Birdie Brown. I love everything by her, she is such a talented illustrator and stamp designer. So I just had to use one of the gnomes for this week’s challenge at MFT. It’s a sketch challenge this week and I wasn’t too sure how to make it work with my style. I tried my best and ended up with a pretty cool design.

I started by ink blending some yellows and orange onto a 2.75 square piece of cardstock. The yellow blended too much with the orange but still looks nice. Then I cut some grass with MFT’s “Grassy Fields” die and popped it up over the background. Then I stamped one of the gnomes that I hadn’t used yet and colored him in. I used my Copics for his hair and boots and my Zigs for the rest. I love mixing these two mediums. Ten I fussy cut him out and popped him up onto the square. Then I adhered it all flat to an A2 sized card base. For the sentiment I white heat embossed it into some dark brown card stock. And that finished off the card! Here is the link to the challenge and products used!

CYCI #133

Hey, everyone! It’s time for another CanYouCaseIt? challenge! This time it’s COLOR- using green, yellow, and neutrals! I typically don’t add too much color to my cards so it’s always nice to have the colors already picked out for me!

I started by pulling out all of my tiny stamps from numerous sets and stamped them in green across my card base from top left to bottom right. Then I die cut a circle frame and attached a black banner to it. I popped them up using some foam dots. Next, I die cut the word “Hello” from some paper that I blended some yellow ink onto. I popped that up as well. To finding it off I added some clear Wink of Stella. I loved using these colors this week and hope you join in!!!

CTD #405

Hello, crafty people! Today there’s a new color challenge at Color Throwdown! I love these challenges!!! Here is how I used the challenge colors-

I started by ink blending some green and yellow onto my card base. Then I took another panel and die cut a window towards the top. I used 2 stitches circle dies to make the window and kept the smallest circle. I popped both that circle and the rest of the panel up with some foam tape over the ink blended card. I also stamped a sentiment. Then I stamped one of the Crazy Birds and watercolored it with my Zigs. I die cut it out and popped it onto the front of the card. This is one of favorite designs because it keeps the card clean and simple but still allows color to pop through! Hope you get a chance to play along!

Hi, everyone! Tonight a might a fun CAS card for one of my guy friends! I used the sketch from (CAS)E This Sketch #184 for this design.

I started by stamping the mushrooms and snail then colored them in using my Zigs and some water. I used a red and orange color as well as a gray for the stems. Then I die cut them out and popped them into an A2 sized card base. Next, I stamped the sentiment and added a green wash of color under all the elements. This was a super fun card and very quick to put together. Here is the challenge-

CYCI #132

Hello, everyone! There is a brand new sketch challenge up at Can you Case It? along with some brilliant cards from the other design team members! I am so lucky to be a part of such a wonderfully talented group!

I had a little more difficulty with this sketch… I made 4 or 5 “half cards” that I didn’t finish because they weren’t turning out.  So I went back to the forever reliable Crazy Birds stamp set and made this one. I really love how it ended up and finally felt satisfied using the sketch!

Summer is almost over so I wanted to use some bright and cheerful colors to hold on to summer as long as possible. I started by ink blending with orange and yellow inks on the left hand side to make an ombre column. I used sticky notes as a mask to make sure I got a clean and crisp line. Then I ink blended some more onto a scratch piece of paper and used an Essentials by Ellen word die to create the ombre’d “Hello” to serve as the sentiment. Next. I cut out a banner from plain white card stock and stamped some Crazy Birds all over it. I watercolored them with my Clean Color markers and popped the banner up on the card. As a finishing touch, I added some clear Wink of Stella over the word die cut and the beaks of the birds.

Now make sure you head over to for more inspiration and join in on the fun!
