Guest Designing for Color Throwdown

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday weekend and managed to score some crafty Black Friday deals! I know I did! Last week I was chosen to be this week’s guest designer for the Color Throwdown challenge! The colors we were supposed to use were black, aqua, celery green, and purple. Here’s a look at how I used the combo!

I started by die cutting the frame using two of Kat Scrappiness double stitched rectangles and black card stock as well as white so I could ink blend onto the inside panel. I used a trio of Distress Inks- Faded Jeans, Shaded Lilac, and Mermaid Lagoon after I heat embossed the images from W+9’s Holiday Houses as well as a sentiment from Lawn Fawn. Finally, I stamped and colored a fairy from Lawn Fawn’s Frosted Fairy Friends with my Copic markers. I love how this card turned out and really love how the colors work together! Hope you all get a chance to play along with this week’s color challenge from Color Throwdown!

Embrace CAS

Hey crafty friends! Just a quick card share for the current challenge from CASology! EMBRACE was the cue word this week so I colored this cuddly gnome from MFT.

IMG_5853.JPG

I used a strip of Lawn Fawn paper on top of a kraft card base and layered on a die cut circle. Then I stamped, colored, and cut out the gnome and mushroom. I popped them up on the circle after stamping a sentiment from Lawn Fawn. Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget to check out the challenge!

Sweet Treats for CAS C&S

Hey guys! I’m here with a card for the current color challenge over at CAS Colour & Sketches! Their challenge for us was to use blues as a monocramatic color scheme. I mixed in a few neutrals as well. Here it is!

IMG_5867.JPG

I simply stamped all of the Sweet Treats from Clearly Besotted and used my Copics to color them in. Then I added a couple strips of blue glitterly washi on both sides of a card base and popped up my colored panel. Hope you check out the challenge!

Framed Mice

Hey guys! I’m back with a super fun card to share with you! I used the color combo from Color Throwdown and the sketch from MFT’s current challenge. Take a look!

I started by die cutting a window into the orange panel then some grassy borders from MFT. I also die cut some stamped mice from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the greeting into some SU! wood grain paper and popped everything up using foam dots. Copics and Zigs were my marker choices and also some Wink of Stella to make things sparkle. This was a super fun card and loved putting together all the layers. Usually my card only have one or two so this was a lot of fun! Here’s the links to both challneges!

CYCI? is Back!!!

Hi everyone! I’ve got some exciting news! After a short break, CanYouCaseIt? is back with another challenge! Our challneges aren’t going to be weekly but bi-weekly instead! Here’s my project for this week’s challenge- orange, yellow and craft.

I decided to make this super fun tag! I used some stitched circle dies and a stamp from SSS. I did some ink blending with Distress Ink over the heat embossed sentiment and popped it up on the tag. I added some matching twine to finish it off. Thanks for stopping by!

CTD417

Hey guys! I’m back with another entry for the Color Throwdown challenge! This week we had to use aqua, green, and orange! I love how Amy R. used a bold orange frame on her DT card so I created a card featuring one as well!

img_5777

I started by doing all of my die cutting. I used a couple of stitched squares from Kat Scrappiness, a grassy border from MFT, and a brushed hello from Ellen Hutson (which I cut 5 times). Then I built my smart pocket with old stamp packaging and foam tape. I filled the pocket with Kat Scrappiness’s Aww-tumn sequin mix.

Thanks for stoping by and checking out my card! Here’s a link to the CTD challenge-
