Spotted You First

Hi, guys! I have a really fun card to share with you today! I used the funniest little giraffe from Maple & Ink, I love his blank expression like he got caught eating those leaves when he shouldn’t have been or something like that.

I was inspired by the cue card LOUD at CASology and the current sketch at (CAS)E this Sketch.

To me, LOUD meant lots of bold colors! And the sketch was perfect for adding splatters and a focal image with a sentiment strip to ground it. Check it out-

I Copic colored the giraffe and ink blended the background. The same colors I ink blended with were used as spatter, too. I love the sorta 90s graphic look of this card. Reminds me of a jazzercise outfit for some reason…let me know what you think!

  1. Kevin, this makes me smile! 🙂 I love that adorable giraffe and I agree! Bold colors are perfect for the cue! Love the splatter and I’m laughing at your Jazzercise outfit comment! Lol!
Thanks for playing along with us again over at CASology!

  2. Hello Kevin, I am very pleasantly surprised that a guy likes to shape his creativity by making cards, that shows sensitivity and intelligence. I like your style very much, you have a lot of sense of composition, you combine the colors very well and to be a “novice” you have very good technique.
I hope you continue to participate, I have always found the creative vision of men very interesting …

  3. Kevin, this is such a fun and funky card! (Jazzercize refernce = made me chuckle! I can see it!) I keep thinking of April the Giraffe who just had her baby a few weeks ago, so this card really makes me happy. Love the splatters! Thanks for joining us at CASology this week!

  4. What fun! Can’t resist a happy giraffe. Happy 50th! A wonderful milestone … May today be filled with sunshine and smiles, laughter and love.

  5. Ha! You’re right – the expression on his face is brilliant – totally busted! Gorgeous coloring and inking and perfect splatters! Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!
