The Challenge 74

Hi, everybody!!!!! I have been struggling lately with coming up with ideas. But today I finally came up with a design I LOVE! My last few cards were okayyyy but this was is definitely my favorite! I don’t layer too much so this was a nice change of pace. Anyways, here it is and how I made it!

image.jpeg

I started with an A2 sized card base, which I later trimmed down to a square card. I added a strip of striped pattern paper to the left side then added black stitching E to the rest of the base. Then I die cut a red piece and popped it up over the washi strips with foam tape. I wanted some texture so I added some white mesh along with a corrugated tag. I wrapped the tag with a black and white gingham ribbon to really give it that country charm. And to finally finding it off I added 2 silver stars and a button! This was a super fun challenge because I definitely do not navigate towards the farmish look. Here is a look at the challenge!

Bow Tie Birthday

Hello everyone! I’m here with a birthday card I made for a couple challenges. I played along with Inspired By All the Little Things and Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge. I used the bottom row on the board. I don’t have very many birthday cards for kids so when I saw the colors of the inspiration photo I thought of making a card for one of my little cousins. Here it is and how I made it!

image.jpeg

I started with the blue panel and wrapped some lighter blue mesh around it. I cut the mesh with wavy lines to add a little interest. The rest of the card is pretty clean cut so this added a little texture and variety to the design. Then I used a bow kit to make this striped bow tie. I adhered it over the mesh. Finally I die cut a sentiment out of some vellum and stapled it onto the panel. Lastly I adhered the blue piece to a white A2 sized card base. This card was super easy and has lots of dimension. Definitely going to have to hand deliver this one. Here are the links to the challenges:

MFTWCS281 & The Challenge #73

Hi friends! I made a card using a sketch from My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge and The Challenge’s Inspiration Photo Challenge! I wasn’t too fond of the design at first but after a while I grew to really like it. It’s hard for me to make a card without wanting to color something so this CAS card was quite the challenge. Here’s a photo of the card and how I made it!

image.jpeg

I used a white A2 card base then adhered a strip of vellum onto a piece of striped paper. The vellum already had the sentiment in it so this was a super easy card. I die cut the daisy out of white cardstock and added a wooden element as the focal point to finish it off. This card took less than 5 minutes to make. I think that’s why I was a little weary to leave it be. What are your thoughts?

Pirate Cat?

Hey everybody! This week at Fusion Card Challenge there is a nautical theme challenge going on! So of course I thought of pirate cats!!!! I really liked the red and white striped bedding in the inspiration photo so I wanted to represent that in my card. Here it is and how I made it!

image.jpeg

So I started with the red and white stripes. I used a scrap piece of white paper and added the red strips of cardstock. I adhered that panel onto the navy blue card base. On the card base I drew on a wonky-ish border and added faux stitching with a white gel pen. I also adhered a piece of foiled triangle dotted paper. Then I die cut a black circle and added some white mesh to mimic a fishing net. I used pirate flag washi tape to act as a grounding spot for my watercolored cat. And of course I drew on an eyepatch. For the sentiment I used a speech bubble sticker and chipboard letters to spell out “ARG.” To finish the card on the inside I lettered “TRANSLATION:” then stamped “Congratulations!”

SPDSS53 & CTD393

Hi again! Here with another card challenge entry! This time it’s for Sugar Ppea Design and Color Throwdown! I will link to both at the end of this posting. Here is the card and how I made it!!!

image.jpeg

This was definitely one of the more feline cards I’ve made lately. I started with a blush colored A2 card base and popped up a white horizontal piece. Then I added a rose colored smaller strip below. I watercolored and die cut a cool cat from MFT and adhered it over the sentiment strip. This was a super fun and easy card! Here are the challenges!

Geometric Card

Hey friends! I made a card for Freshly Made Sketches and Inspired by All the Little Things! The links to both challenges will be at the end of this post! I needs a (small) break from Cool Cats so I made this CAS card showcasing some awesome triangles! Here is the card and how I made it!

image.jpeg

I used an orange A2 card base and layered on a slightly smaller white panel. Then I cut some triangles out of some paint chips! I love using cheap, in this case, FREE supplies!!! I layered them in a messy way to balance the clean look of the rest of the card. Then I stamped a simple sentiment in the bottom corner.

YNSCHALLENGE39

Hello! I’m here with my entry for Your Next Stamp’s Sketch Challenge 39!! I used MFT’s Cool Cats…again. Here is a look at the card!

image.jpeg

I used an A2 sized bright pink card base and cut down a piece of pattern paper  it has hot and soft pink dots as well as gold foiled polkas! Then I used a strip of gold glitter paper across the card base. I die cut the white ticket shape, cat, and his little cushion. I added some pink ink to the edge of the ticket so it wasn’t so stark white. I watercolored the images and adhered them on the card. This is a super pink card so I’m giving it to my friend for her birthday tomorrow!
