Call Me Debby

Hey, everyone. If you’ve been around the card making industry for a minute, you know who Debby Hughes is. And I think she is incredible. So I wanted to channel my inner Debby and create a soft, floral, masterpiece. I got some more inspiration from the Color Throwdown challenge-

So when I saw these colors I knew I wanted to try coloring with Copics in gray card stock. Here’s how it turned out-

I first stamped the image using my stamping platform with Versamark, I heard you’re not supposed to use Copics on embossing powder, so I didn’t, but who knows if that’s a real thing or not. Anyways, I colored with a pair of pink Copics. Then I put the panel back in my stamping platform and inked it up again with Versamark so I could white heat emboss the rose- which is from Altenew. I foam mounted the gray panel onto a kraft card base and added a sentiment label from Mama Elephant’s Occasional Labels set. A few splatters of white ink and a trio of Pretty Ponk Posch sparkling clear sequins finished this card.

Thanks for for stopping by and go show Debby some love over at limedoodledesigns.com!

  1. Love it, Kevin. I think Debby would be proud. I’m glad I read the blog. When I first saw the title I “saw” “Just call me Daddy.” I was like, “what?” 😂🤣😂

  2. Just a gorgeous card. Love it’s simplicity and love the white embossing over the rose. I’d not thought of doing that. Thankyou. X
