Hi everybody! Its time for another CanYouCaseIt? challenge!!! This week happens to be a COLOR challenge! And the colors are Chartreuse, Gray, and Flamingo! I love this combo but don’t use it very often- thats what I love about color challenges! Heres what I did with this week’s color scheme!
I decided to make a shaker this week! I’ve been seeing these full-card shakers all over so I decided to give it a try!
First, I made my card base by using the largest stitched stacked square dies from Kat Scrappiness! Then I used it again along with the next smallest die to create a frame. I kept the negative from the frame to use as my background. I used Peeled Paint Distress Ink for my sky and Pumice Stone for the island that the flamingos are standing on. Speaking of flamingos- I stamped them with Versafine and watercolored them with my Zigs. They don’t look too pink in the photo (shrimp shortage here in Minnesota) but they are pink in real life! After gluing all of these elements flat to my card base I added some sequins and glitter on top. I chose a green and silver sequin along with flat hearts from Crate Paper and some pink glitter. Finally, I popped up the frame that I had cut earlier and watercolored it in pink and gray and attached a piece of acetate to keep all of the shaker bits inside. And that finished it! This was actually super easy to do!
Heres the link to the CYCI? challenge! Hope to see you playing along with us this week!
